The power of full day sessions
Today, I dedicated the entire day to working exclusively on a scientific publication.
Previously, I spread out the time for this project throughout the week: two hours on Monday, two on Tuesday, and two on Wednesday. The intention was that short sessions would allow me to make steady and sustainable progress.
However, I’ve discovered that this project—due to its complexity—greatly benefits from long work sessions. Therefore, I now reserve an entire day (without interruptions or context switches) to focus solely on the publication. This not only makes me more productive but also allows me to enjoy the project much more.
If you have the chance, try reorganizing your schedule to dedicate long blocks of time (more than four hours) to your most complex projects.
