Today I continued to process Cal Newport’s Discipline Ladder. The central idea is that, when we decide to start doing a difficult activity, we suffer a physiological reaction that makes us feel aversion towards that task. This aversion may be so great that you cannot even begin doing that activity.
It’s amazing how managing this reaction determines both our capacity for discipline and, ultimately, our ability to do the necessary and difficult things to live a good life.
