The Gestalt's Garden

The creative process of writing with a Zettelkasten

| 129 words

The Zettelkasten method should not add anything new to the creative writing process.

We all already carry out (implicitly or explicitly) the phases of Investigate, Capture, Connect and Express when we want to write a text (or, at the very least, we should be interested in doing them).

What is new about the Zettelkasten method is that it is an environment where these steps can be done efficiently. It is a way to make those phases explicit and conscious to ensure that we are really doing them and benefiting from them.

Or, in other words, it is a way of respecting the rhythms and phases of creative work.

This entry by Álvaro García shows the creative process that he follows to write together with his Zettelkasten. Highly recommended :-)
